This machine is designed to produce ice flakes of various sizes and shapes continuously. It makes small and soft pieces of ice with a very high ice to water ratio. Ice is produced on inner walls of container and is scratched off with help of a rotating blade. Ice Flake Machine is made from stainless steel outer casing. This machine operates on a very efficient closed loop heat exchange system of refrigerants.
Ice Flake Machine
The evaporator of the flake ice machine is a vertically placed drum-shape stainless steel container, equipped with the rotating blade which spins and scratches the ice off the inner wall of the drum. When operating, the principal shaft and blade spins anti-clockwise pushed by the reducer. Water is sprayed down from the sprinkler; ice is formed from the water brine on the inner wall. The water tray at the bottom catches the cold water while deflecting Ice and re-circulates it back into the sump. The sump will typically use a float valve to fill as needed during production. Flake machines have a tendency to form an ice ring inside the bottom of the drum. Electric heaters are in wells at the very bottom to prevent this accumulation of ice where the crusher does not reach. Some machines use scrapers to assist this. This system utilizes a low temperature condensing unit; like all ice machines. Most manufactures also utilize an E.P.R.V. (Evaporator pressure regulating valve.)
Working Principle: The working principle is the closed loop heat exchange of refrigerant, outside water flow into the tank, the water is pumped into the water distribution pan by the circulating pump, driven by the reducer, the water in the pan evenly flows down the inner wall of evaporate, the refrigerant in the refrigeration system evaporates through the loop inside the evaporator and absorbs large amount of heat by exchanging heat with the water on the wall, as a result, the water flow over the surface of inner evaporator wall sharply cools to below the freezing point and freezes into ice instantaneously, Part of the water film attached the bottom of evaporator and then into the water for recycling, when the ice on the inner wall reaches a certain thickness, spiral ice blade is driven by the peel ice from the inner wall, thus ice flakes form, fall into the ice storage bin at the bottom of ice flakers and stored for future cyclin
